Etchings are Engravings in copper / zinc plates, which are then etched in acid according to the traditional etching technique. In most cases, the plates are then treated with aquatint, which enhances the shading possibilities when printing
Radierungen sind Gravuren auf Kupfer- oder Zinkplatten die dann entsprechend der traditionellen Radierungstechnik in ein Säurebad gegeben werden, in dem das Motiv dann eingeätzt wird. In den meisten Fällen werden die Platten dann noch mit „Auquatinta“ behandelt, was mir dann beim Drucken deutlich mehr Möglichkeiten für Schattierungen gibt.
